Fancy Fall Apple Tart

If you’re looking for a delicious and simple fall dessert that’s sure to impress your next dinner guests, look no further than our Fancy Fall AppleTart featuring Attiki Honey.

This apple honey tart takes the crispness of fall apples and layers it with warm, velvety Attiki honey, which elevates the tart from simple to showstopper. The crust is made of layers of flaky Krinos fillo giving crunch and depth to this delicate dessert.

The best part? This exquisite tart takes less than 40 minutes to make! Move over apple pie – this tart may become a go-to for years to come.
Before you begin: be sure to use a tin with a removable bottom for the perfectly presented Fall Apple Tart. To make the tart, start by preheating the oven to 400o Fahrenheit.

For the filling, combine ¾ cup of loosely packed ground almonds, ¼ cup of Attiki honey, ¼ cup of unsalted, softened butter,1 egg yolk, ½ tsp of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt into a small bowl.

Stir until smooth and set aside. Thinly slice the apples, discarding any seeds and brush with lemon juice. Keep the skin on for a beautifully rippled effect after baking.

Now it’s time to assemble your tart.

Line the bottom and sides of a 10-inch tart tin with two sheets of Krinos Fillo stacked on top of each other, tucking the fillo in on the bottom corners. Brush with melted butter and repeat process twice more, offsetting the fillo by a third each time.

Trim overhanging to 1- inch and roll excess fillo inward so it sits within the sides of the tin in order to create a raised edge. Spread almond mixture over the base of the tart and layer with apples.

Bake for 30-35 minutes and allow to cool before drizzling with 2 tbsp of Attiki honey. Cut into wedges to serve. Enjoy!

Feta Pull-Apart Bread

As the October air cools and the leaves change, everyone is craving warm, comfort food. We’ve come up with an awesome meal hack that’s easily sharable and hits the spot, so you can enjoy the beautiful fall days ahead.

Our Feta Pull-Apart Bread is a simple recipe you can make ahead of a dinner party, with your kids or to snack on. With two cheeses and loads of flavour, you’ll be equally impressed by the taste and ease of this dish.

To make our Feta Pull-Apart Bread you’ll need 1.5 lbs of store-bought pizza dough – no need to make your own here. Divide the dough in half, dust with flour and roll out until ½ inch thick. Cut each half into 4 squares so you have 8 pieces.

Preheat the oven to 400º F. In a small bowl, mash together Krinos Feta, ½ cup of crumbled Ricotta, 2 tbsp olive oil, and oregano. Stir in 1 cup of coarsely grated mozzarella and 2 cloves of chopped garlic.

Top each dough square with a generous tablespoon of the Feta mixture and top with a second piece of dough, flattening slightly to distribute the filling. Cut the square in half and begin to stack the dough standing up against one another in a 9×5 non-stick loaf pan. Imagine a very tall club sandwich in a loaf pan.

Repeat the entire process until all the dough is used and the loaf pan is filled with layers of dough and cheesy filling. Cover with a kitchen towel, set in a warm spot and let rise for about 30-45 minutes.

Before baking, brush the top with the remaining olive oil and sprinkle any unused filling on top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until deeply golden.

While we know you’ll want to dig in as soon as it comes out of the oven, allow the bread to stand for 10 minutes before serving and pulling apart!

Do you have any easy meal hacks? We’d love to hear them!

Easy Winter Recipes For Very Intimate Meals

The holiday season is typically a time to gather with family and friends; while that may not be possible this year, you don’t have to sacrifice great food, even if you’re having an intimate meal.

Our Krinos elves have put together some of our favourite winter recipes to get you in the mood – these recipes are easy-to-make, perfect for kids and small gatherings alike.

Roasted Red Pepper and Sweet Potato Feta Soup:
You can enjoy this velvety warm and sweet soup all year long, but especially this time of year. From bake to bowl in 30 minutes, we love this soup for its simplicity, yet depth of flavour. It makes great leftovers, too.

Braised Potatoes with Krinos Organic Feta and Olives:
Nothing says comfort food like warm potatoes and cheese. Braised potatoes are elevated with our creamy, salty feta and topped with herbs and spices. It takes very little to prepare this recipe, but you’ll enjoy it for a long time.

Feta Fillo Cigars:
These crunchy appetizers are a hit on every table. Simple to make and even easier to enjoy, these savoury cigars are even better served with our chili honey and olive tapenade.

Tahini Espresso Trifle:
Intimate gathering? All the more reason to indulge. The Tahini Espresso Trifle is a perfect ending to a meal this season, and if you have kids, they’ll love assembling the layers of this sweet dessert. Tip: If you don’t want to make one large trifle, consider assembling smaller, individual-sized portions.

And, to end the year, we are thrilled to be announcing a brand-new addition to the Krinos Mini Fillo Roll collection – Sautéed Ground Beef! Ready in minutes, we’ve taken an all-time classic flavour and stuffed it into our flaky and delicious mini fillo rolls. No time to cook? No problem. Our new Sautéed Ground Beef Mini Fillo Rolls make an excellent last-minute, in a pinch, kid-approved, no-mess meal, appetizer or snack.

Wishing you and your family a holiday season filled with all the fixings from the comfort of your home.
